Jammu and Kashmir’s flag down in Srinagar’s Civil Secretariat


Three weeks after the Government ended Jammu and Kashmir’s special status. the flag of the state was removed from the Civil Secretariat in Srinagar today.

The secretariat building so far used to hoist both the state and the Indian flag but this morning, only the Indian flag was hoisted, said the officials. The expected dates for the removal of the flag was October 31st 2019, when the law bifurcating Jammu and Kashmir into two Union Territories – Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh – was supposed to come into effect.
